Mary Moran Day, DDS

Our Team

Dr. Mary Moran Day (center) graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1996 with a degree in Psychology.  She was a cheerleader for the Tarheels for the 1992-1993 football and basketball seasons, cheering them to victory in both the Peach Bowl and the NCAA championship.  She went on to attend UNC School of Dentistry and graduated in 2000 with her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.  Dr. Day began practicing as an associate dentist in the Research Triangle Park in Durham, NC.  Although she loved her job in Durham, you know what they say about having "salt water in your veins..." 

Dr. Day is a native of Morehead City and is excited to be back home.  She is a member of the First United Methodist Church and recently joined the Chamber of Commerce.  Dr. Day is a member in good standing in the American Dental Association as well as the North Carolina Dental Society.  Dr. Day lives in Morehead City with her husband, Travis Day and their daughter, Dylan.  (Travis is also a native of Morehead City, and is currently a professor at UNC Chapel Hill's Kenan-Flagler Business School.)  When she is not working, Dr. Day enjoys spending time with family and friends.  On warm days, you're likely to see her out on the boat at Bird Shoals!

Ashley Hersinger (left) graduated from Havelock High School and went on to receive her Dental Assisting II Certification from Craven Community College in New Bern, NC in 2004.  Ashley has been assisting since that time in all aspects of the field.  She is a native of Havelock, NC. 

Susan Moran (right) has vast experience in the dental field, as well.  She worked at a local dental lab for 13 years, gaining knowledge about dental procedures and the process of making crowns and bridges.  For the past 5 years, Susan has been working in a local dentist office at the front desk.  Susan was happy to have her daughter, Dr. Day, move back home in time for the holidays.  She is excited to be taking care of the front desk for Dr. Day!
